Clinics: visit fields and medical info

Choose the measurements a doctor records at each visit, and the fixed medical info kept for each patient.

On this page

Every clinic measures and records different things. The Clinics add-on has two kinds of fields you define yourself:

  • Visit fields: shown in the visit form above the notes, such as blood pressure, weight and temperature. All optional.
  • Medical info: the patient's fixed details, shown in the Overview of their file, such as blood type, allergies and chronic conditions.

Before you start

Fields are set by an administrator, on the Add-ons page, while the Clinics add-on is on. A clinic starts with a ready set of suggested fields: blood pressure, weight, height, temperature, pulse, blood sugar and SpO2 for visits; blood type, allergies, chronic conditions, current medications, past surgeries and family history for medical info.

Add a field

  1. In the inbox, open Settings, then Add-ons, and in Clinic settings scroll to Visit fields or Medical info (1).
  2. Select Add field (2).
  3. Enter the Name in Arabic and Name in English, and choose the Type:
    • Number: with a Unit in Arabic and English, a Minimum, a Maximum and Decimals.
    • Two numbers (like blood pressure): with a name for the first and second number, such as systolic and diastolic.
    • Text, Choice from a list (one option per line), or Yes / No.
  4. Select Save.

Order and switch off fields

  • Drag a field (3) to change its place in the forms.
  • Turn off On to hide a field for now without deleting it.
  • Delete field removes it from the forms; values already recorded stay visible in visits and files.
  • A field with recorded values cannot change its type. Add a new field instead.
  • If you deleted the suggested fields and want them back, select Add suggested fields.

How the team sees them

  1. In a patient file, on the Visits tab, select Add visit. The visit fields (1) appear above Notes.
  2. Fill in only what was measured, leave the rest empty, then Save visit.

When weight and height are recorded at the same visit, the BMI is worked out automatically. Medical info lives on Overview, under Medical info, and is changed with Edit.

If a value is refused

  • "Enter a number between … and …": the value is outside the limits you set for the field.
  • "Enter both numbers, or leave both empty.": on a two-number field such as blood pressure.
  • "Decimals allowed: …": more decimal places than the field allows.
Note: the numeric measurements from visits are what Measurement trends charts, so give them clear limits and units.
