WhatsApp service messages
See how many service messages each WhatsApp number sent this month, and how many are left of the monthly allowance before Meta charges.
Your replies to a customer within 24 hours of their last message are called service messages. From 1 October 2026, the first 1,000 service messages a month on each number carry no Meta charge; after that, Meta charges for each one. The WhatsApp service messages page counts them per number, so you know when you are getting close.
Who can see it
Administrators, and anyone whose role has the "Manage reports" permission. The page is in every plan, because it is about your own number and your own bill.
Open the page
- In the sidebar, open Reports, then WhatsApp service messages.
- Each WhatsApp number in your account has a card (1) with Service messages this month out of the allowance with no Meta charge, and Left with no charge.
- The top of the page shows the month being counted (2). The month runs in UTC, not your workspace's time zone.
The same card is also in the WhatsApp channel's settings: open Settings, then Inboxes, pick the number and open the Account health tab. See WhatsApp account health.
What you see
- Left with no charge: all is well.
- Near the allowance: only a few messages with no charge are left this month.
- Past the monthly allowance: with the number of messages Meta charges for, and their approximate cost in US dollars.
- "The service-message meter is switched off on this platform. Meta charges for service messages past the first 1,000 a month on each number.": Hadir Chat is not counting for now, but Meta still charges past the allowance; check your Meta invoice.
What counts
- Every message your team or your bots send from Hadir Chat on this number, except templates.
- Automated messages that go out as WhatsApp within 24 hours.
- Hadir Assistant's answers to your staff on this number, if you use it.
Not counted here: templates (Meta charges them by their category), private notes, what you type in the WhatsApp Business app on your phone, and anything another tool sends on the same number.
If you are close to the limit
- Give automated messages a smaller share of the allowance, so more is left for your team's replies. See Channel order and WhatsApp cost.
- Put Telegram and email ahead of WhatsApp in your automated messages' channel order: Meta does not charge for them.
Note: the count comes from the messages sent through Hadir Chat. Meta's invoice is the reference and may differ slightly.
