MCP server

Hadir Assistant's 27 read-only tools over MCP at app.hadir.chat/mcp: sign-in with OAuth or a key, scopes, limits and the full tool list.

On this page

Hadir Chat runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI apps such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can answer questions from your workspace's data. It offers the same tools as Hadir Assistant, and every one of them only reads; none can send, change or delete anything. It works if Hadir Assistant and MCP connections are enabled on your workspace.

The server

  • URL: https://app.hadir.chat/mcp
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP, one JSON-RPC 2.0 message per POST, answered as JSON. Methods: initialize, ping, tools/list, tools/call.
  • Every tool answer starts with the workspace name and its time zone, then the result in the user's language, then the same data as JSON (also in structuredContent).

Two ways to sign in

OAuth (Claude and ChatGPT)

Give the app the URL only. The server advertises its sign-in through /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server, and apps register themselves. The person then signs in to Hadir Chat in the same browser and sees Connect an app to Hadir Assistant, where they tick what the app may reach under What it can reach, pick Expires after, and select Approve and connect. Access tokens last an hour and refresh on their own. Step by step for each app: Connect Claude and ChatGPT.

A key (the Claude API, Cursor, other apps)

  1. As an administrator, open Settings, then Integrations, then the MCP (Claude and ChatGPT) card.
  2. Select Add a new MCP connection. Fill in Connection name, App, What it can reach and Expires after (30 days, 90 days or never), then Create connection.
  3. Copy the Key; it starts with hdr_mcp_. You can show it again later with Show key after confirming your password.

Send the key as a bearer token:

curl https://app.hadir.chat/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer hdr_mcp_…" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 1, "method": "tools/list"}'

With the Claude API, put the URL in mcp_servers and the key in authorization_token.

What a connection can see

Every call gets the narrowest of three limits: the role of the person who made the connection, the scopes ticked for it, and what the plan includes. tools/list returns only the tools that pass all three. A refused call is not a protocol error: it comes back with isError: true and a sentence saying what is missing, so the AI can tell the person. Revoking a connection, its expiry, the person leaving the workspace or the plan dropping the feature all take effect on the next call.

Each connection may make 30 tool calls a minute. Every call is listed under Hadir Assistant, Logs, MCP requests, with the person, the tool, its inputs and the result. The chats inside Claude or ChatGPT never reach Hadir Chat.
