Using the WhatsApp Business app with Hadir Chat
Your number works in the WhatsApp Business app on your phone and in Hadir Chat at the same time. Here is what syncs and what doesn't.
On this page
If you connect a number you already use in the WhatsApp Business app, it keeps working in the app on your phone and in Hadir Chat at the same time. Meta calls this coexistence. You can reply from either, and the customer gets the message from the same number.
What shows in Hadir Chat
- Customer messages arrive in Hadir Chat as usual.
- Your replies from the phone app appear in the same conversation in Hadir Chat as outgoing messages, with "Sent from the phone app" next to the time, so your team knows they didn't come from Hadir Chat. They appear within seconds, once.
- Your team's replies from Hadir Chat show once; Meta's copy of them is not added again.
- Reactions (an emoji on a message) show as a short reply to the message that was reacted to. A removed reaction shows nothing.
Contacts and chat history
After you connect a number that is on the app, Hadir Chat asks Meta, once, for your contacts and your one-to-one chat history (up to about six months):
- Contacts with a WhatsApp number are added to Hadir Chat, or a customer saved only by number gets their name. Deleting a contact from your phone's address book does not delete it from Hadir Chat.
- Old chats are added to the same customer, in a resolved conversation, with no notifications, assignment or automatic replies to old messages.
- Old media shows as a line "[Media from the chat history]".
Note: Meta allows this copy to be requested only within 24 hours of connecting, and only once. If you declined to share your history when connecting, or the time has passed, it can only be fetched by connecting again from the start.
What doesn't sync, and what changes in the app
- Group chats don't sync.
- In one-to-one chats the app turns off disappearing messages, view once and live location.
- Broadcast lists: you can't create new ones, and existing ones become read-only.
- Voice and video calls don't reach Hadir Chat.
- Linked devices are unlinked when you connect; link them again from the app. WhatsApp for Windows doesn't work in this mode.
- The number's sending speed is fixed at 20 messages a second.
A message shows as "can't be shown here"
Meta doesn't deliver some WhatsApp message types to connected systems, such as view-once messages, polls and some edited messages. They show in the conversation as a bubble saying the customer sent a message that can't be shown here, and a view-once message says so explicitly.
- If your number also works in the WhatsApp Business app, the bubble reminds you that you can open it in the app on the phone.
- Select Ask to resend under the bubble to add a reply you can edit before sending: "We received a message we can't open. Could you send it again as a normal message? 🙏".
The 24-hour window and cost
The 24-hour window in Hadir Chat starts from the customer's last message. A reply from the phone app doesn't open or extend it, and isn't counted in Hadir Chat's Meta message cost.
