Connect Telegram
Create a Telegram bot for your business and paste its token, so customers' messages reach the inbox.
On this page
On Telegram, customers talk to a business through a bot that carries its name. You create the bot once with Telegram's official BotFather account, then paste its token into Hadir Chat. Every message a customer sends to the bot arrives in the inbox, and your team's replies reach them from the same bot.
Before you start
- You need to be an Administrator in Hadir Chat.
- You need a Telegram account on your phone or computer.
Create the bot in Telegram
- In Telegram, search for @BotFather and open the chat. Check that it has the verified mark next to its name.
- Send
/newbot. - Type the name customers will see, such as your store's name.
- Type a username for the bot that ends in
bot, such asalrayhan_store_bot. - BotFather sends you a long token. Copy it, and treat it like a password: do not share it.
Add the channel in Hadir Chat
- In the inbox, open Settings, then Inboxes, and select Add Inbox.
- Choose Telegram (1).
- On the Telegram Channel page, paste the token into Bot Token (1).
- Select Create Telegram Channel (2).
- Pick the agents who answer Telegram messages, then select Add agents.
- You see Your Inbox is ready! with a QR code. Scan it with your phone to open the bot and send a test message, then select Take me there.
Share the bot with your customers
Your bot's link is https://t.me/ followed by the username you chose. Put it on your website and social accounts, or in your thank-you message after an order. The customer starts the conversation by tapping Start in Telegram; from then on their messages reach you.
Note: on Telegram, a bot cannot start a conversation with someone who has never messaged it. So the inbox only shows conversations from customers who wrote to the bot first.
If the token is refused
If you see "We were not able to save the telegram channel", the token was most likely copied incomplete or with an extra space. Copy it again, whole, from the BotFather chat. Once connected, do not revoke the bot's token in BotFather: revoking it stops messages reaching the channel.
