Live chat campaigns

Show an automatic greeting to visitors of a chosen page on your site after a number of seconds, so you start the conversation.

On this page

A live chat campaign is a message that appears in your website's chat window without the visitor typing anything, once they have spent some time on a page you choose. For example, a visitor who has been on your pricing page for 30 seconds sees "Need help choosing a plan?". If they reply, the conversation reaches your inbox like any other.

Before you start

  • You are an Administrator in Hadir Chat.
  • The website chat channel is installed on your site. See Add website chat.

Create the campaign

  1. In the sidebar, open Campaigns, then Live Chat.
  2. Select Create campaign.
  3. Enter a Title (1). Only your team sees it.
  4. Write the Message (2) the visitor will see. Keep it short, and make it a question that is easy to answer.
  5. In Select Inbox (3), pick your website channel. Only website chat channels are listed.
  6. In Sent by (4), choose the agent the message appears from, or the bot.
  7. In URL (5), paste the address of the page where the message should appear, such as https://example.com/pricing.
  8. In Time on page(Seconds) (6), enter how many seconds to wait before it appears.
  9. Under Other preferences, leave Enable campaign ticked. To show the message only while your team is around, tick Trigger only during business hours.
  10. Select Create.

Try it

  1. Open the page whose address you entered in a private browser window.
  2. Wait the number of seconds you set. The message appears above the chat button.
  3. Type a reply; you will find the conversation in the inbox under your website channel.

Edit or turn off a campaign

Each campaign is listed on a card with its status, Enabled or Disabled. Use the edit button on the card to change any field, or untick Enable campaign to pause it without deleting it. To remove it for good, use the delete button, then Delete.

Note: Trigger only during business hours follows the business hours set on the website channel. If none are set, the channel counts as open all the time.
