Voice-note transcription
Turn customers' voice notes into text shown under the message, so your team reads them at a glance and your Hadir AI assistant answers them like written messages.
On this page
Many customers prefer voice notes, especially on WhatsApp. With transcription on, Hadir AI turns every new voice note into text shown under it in the conversation. Your team reads the message without playing it, and your Hadir AI assistant answers it just as it answers written messages.
Before you start
- You need to be an Administrator.
- Your plan needs to include transcription. If it does not, the option is greyed out with no switch.
- If you run Hadir AI on your own keys, choose a provider that supports audio, such as OpenAI or Gemini. See Usage, credit and model keys.
Turn transcription on
- In the inbox, open Settings, then Hadir AI settings.
- Scroll down to Features (1).
- Switch on Audio Transcription (2). You see "Hadir AI settings updated successfully."
Transcription starts with voice notes that arrive after you switch it on; older ones are not transcribed.
Where the text appears
- Open a conversation with a voice note in it.
- The transcript (1) appears under the audio player a few seconds after the message arrives.
- A long transcript shows only its start: select Show more to read it all, and Show less to fold it again.
The audio file stays as it is, so you can still play or download it.
With your Hadir AI assistant and HadirPilot
- In inboxes connected to an assistant, the assistant waits for the transcript, then answers what the voice note says as if it were typed, from the same knowledge.
- When you ask HadirPilot to summarise the conversation or suggest a reply, it reads the voice notes' text along with the rest. See HadirPilot.
Usage
On Hadir-managed keys, each transcribed voice note counts towards your plan's Hadir AI replies. When the month's replies run out, transcription stops, and voice notes reach your team as they are, without text, until the new month or until credit is added.
Note: the switch that runs transcription is Audio Transcription in Hadir AI settings, as in the steps above. If you switch it off, new voice notes are not transcribed, and the text of earlier ones stays.
